About the role

  • Operate safely in a pilot manufacturing and R&D facility working hands-on with reactive metal powders.
  • Participate in the materials and process development efforts for an advanced metallurgy process.
  • Characterize process outputs that the inform processing, properties, structure, material relationship.
  • Optimize process parameters to achieve target quality and performance requirements, study process windows and develop bounding setpoints for processes.
  • Contribute to the development of core equipment technology, including development of next generation processes and equipment for production.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Coursework or practical experience in materials characterization techniques.
  • Familiarity with data analysis using tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to work in a laboratory setting.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
  • Exposure to analysis of metallic or magnetic materials.
  • Prior experience with SEM, EDS, EBSD, or material characterization techniques.
  • Experience working in an academic or industrial laboratory setting.
