About the role

  • Own the technical performance and reliability of the Booking and Checkout flows
  • Align technical decisions with business priorities, focusing on premium user experience, booking success rate, payment reliability, and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to roadmap prioritization by balancing business value, technical debt reduction, and platform scalability
  • Prepare and manage engineering department budgets, plan staffing levels, and control costs while maintaining performance
  • Lead the development and implementation of e-commerce engineering strategies
  • Ensure high-quality API design to support Web and Mobile applications
  • Champion engineering best practices: code quality, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, incident management, and security
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence
  • Monitor staff performance and facilitate learning and development

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of the e-commerce environment with a strong grasp of booking and checkout processes
  • Solid background in API-driven architectures
  • Comfortable operating in high-reliability, revenue-critical environments
  • Knowledge of current and emerging engineering standards and principles
  • Ability to connect technical choices to strategic business issues
  • Experience optimizing key e-commerce KPIs
  • Skilled in analyzing complex datasets related to booking errors and system performance
