About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Deputy Director of Partnerships in maintaining high-touch communication with existing partners to increase engagement.
  • Actively identify and "bring into the fold" new health-related organizations to expand our national footprint beyond current partners.
  • Prepare and execute mobilization strategies and communications assets for Civic Holidays (e.g., National Voter Registration Day, National Voter Education Week, Vote Early Day).
  • Organize and train health professional students to facilitate voting access for patients who face unexpected hospitalization during election cycles.
  • Create patient-facing educational materials and bedside toolkits to streamline the emergency ballot request process.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • APAMSA Membership: Must be an active member of the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association.
  • Academic Credit Requirement. Candidates must provide documentation from their institution confirming they will receive course credit for this internship.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex advocacy goals to diverse health professionals.
  • Remote Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, meeting deadlines and managing multiple workstreams via digital tools (Slack, Zoom, CRM).
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to gain trust and give respect to others through honesty, integrity, kindness, empathy, and authenticity.
  • Acute attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritize time to meet deadlines for multiple projects.
  • Drive to seek what can be improved and offer ways to fix any potential roadblocks.
  • Comfort admitting what you don’t know and recognizing that feedback is part of the learning process.
