About the role

  • You will take operational responsibility for IT security measures within VOLKSWOHL BUND's endpoint, network and system environment.
  • The objective is to ensure a stable, technically effective security operation (Protection, Detection, Response).
  • Operate and further develop endpoint and system security, including endpoint security solutions.
  • Support the expansion of a Managed Detection & Response (MDR) concept.
  • Monitor, analyze and respond to security events.
  • Ensure patch and update discipline in close coordination with the change process / remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to firewall, proxy and network security policies and their implementation.
  • Evaluate and harden interfaces between the network and endpoints.
  • Work on security operations processes (incident handling, change management, asset-related tasks).
  • Maintain security policies, checklists and documentation.
  • Support awareness and reporting activities.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years in an operational IT or security environment (e.g., system administrator, network technician, security analyst).
  • Experience in the insurance or financial sector is an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of IT security and network technologies (firewalls, routing, endpoint security, MDR concepts).
  • Experience in security operations (monitoring, incident handling, patch management).
  • Basic understanding of ITIL, structured documentation skills, and confident handling of security tools and logs.
  • Independent, responsible working style; strong communication skills; ability to work as part of a team at the interface between network, operations and security.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements (DORA, BSI IT-Grundschutz) is desirable and can also be developed on the job.
