About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and further develop the AI department within TZ
Manage CARIAD’s portfolio of (generative) AI-based initiatives to increase efficiency in R&D and optimize processes
Lead TZ development activities to deliver state-of-the-art (generative) AI for PMT and process optimization
Provide governance for (process) AI development at CARIAD R&D and across the Volkswagen Group
Represent CARIAD within the Volkswagen Group initiative to consolidate process AI (KAK PMT, KI@TE, etc.)
Drive the technology strategy for process AI at CARIAD in close coordination with the Tech Centers and CARIAD Enterprise IT
Serve as process owner for the AI development process at CARIAD
Oversee activities to establish a central governance framework for the EU AI Act at CARIAD
Innovate AI application areas and develop new approaches to make R&D at CARIAD and Volkswagen faster and more efficient

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in a technology company, management consulting, or at an OEM leading teams
Deep understanding of process AI and AI-based automation
Experience developing AI strategies, leading AI teams, creating business plans, and governing technology areas
Agile mindset with strong leadership and motivational skills
Proven track record in executing transformation and strategy projects focused on cost and efficiency
Strong project management skills (proven experience leading complex, priority projects with multiple C-level stakeholders under tight timelines)
Strong and empathetic communication and self-organization skills, solution-oriented thinking, and the ability to manage senior leaders
Ability to work in a dynamic environment; high degree of professionalism, initiative, resilience, and service orientation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience collaborating with alignment and governance bodies within Volkswagen
Knowledge of and deep understanding of PMT are a plus
