About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the introduction of new vehicle models and ensure stable production quality and volume outputs.
  • Drive corrective actions, improve product and process quality.
  • Ensure successful pre-series and series production builds through cross-functional collaborations.
  • Improve internal and external quality results, reduce rework, and enhance productivity in line with plant KPIs.
  • Analyse and resolve product and process deviations not resolved at first level.
  • Prepare and present detailed analyses and corrective actions at technical and management forums.
  • Support production through shopfloor engagement and proactive problem identification.
  • Monitor and optimise fitment processes and dimensional stability across vehicle zones.
  • Develop and implement tooling, fixtures, and prototype solutions to improve build quality and reduce defects.
  • Establish and manage rework solutions and corrective actions to stabilise production.
  • Support new model launches including prototype builds, pre-series, and SOP readiness.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Planning and international counterparts to achieve targets.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum Qualifications: BTech/National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Trade qualification (Toolmaker/Jigs & Fixtures/Auto Electrician and patternmaking)
  • 3 years post apprenticeship experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within an automotive or engineering environment.
  • Experience in vehicle manufacturing processes and product quality improvement.
  • Exposure to new model launches and pilot hall activities is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound knowledge of metrology principles and vehicle manufacturing.
  • Ability to interpret measurement data and technical reports.
  • Good communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels.
  • Advanced MS Office and engineering systems knowledge (VW systems advantageous).
