About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect construction activities on heavy highway construction projects
- Report to project sites daily and remain on-site throughout assigned projects, which may be located anywhere along the Colorado Front Range
- Complete required forms and paperwork documenting construction activities each day
- Report directly to the Project Engineer for each project and to the Volkert Project Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5 years of heavy highway construction experience
- Proficiency in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet/email usage
- Ability to obtain (or hold) certifications including Traffic Control Supervisor, CDOT Highway Plan Reading, CDOT Construction Surveying, CDOT Basic Highway Math, ACI Concrete Transportation Construction Inspection, and Transportation Erosion Control Supervisor Training
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods
- Flexible work hours
- Willingness to temporarily relocate to project locations if necessary
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
- Prior experience on Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) construction projects is a bonus
