About the role
- Take responsibility for cost, delivery timelines and quality in defined procurement areas and commodity groups
- Monitor and analyze developments in your sourcing markets and derive appropriate category strategies
- Identify savings potential and further develop processes and standards
- Actively contribute to projects — for example in value-engineering processes, value analyses or as subproject lead for new products
- Negotiate contracts and terms and maintain existing supplier relationships
- Select suitable sources and suppliers, conduct tendering procedures and perform evaluations together with Quality Management
- Own procurement planning and help shape relevant reporting processes
- Actively shape supplier management and participate in resolving defects
Requirements
- A completed technical or commercial degree, or comparable qualifications with several years of professional experience in purchasing technical products or components
- Good technical understanding
- Relevant knowledge in supplier, project, quality and category management as well as contract law and procurement logistics
- Good knowledge of common MS Office applications
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Ideally, proficiency in English
- Strong negotiation skills, initiative and assertiveness
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
