About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct support to the Grants Division for the timely award of grants across the agency in support of the federal health mission.
- Accomplish and deliver compliant pre- and post-award documentation and grants documents in accordance with federal and DoD grants principles, including 2 CFR 200 and DoD Grants and Agreement Regulations (DoDGARS), DoD Directives and Instructions, laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Assist in conducting grant award activities, including collecting responsibility information, preparing award notices, distributing awards, and processing requests for debriefing.
- Assist in evaluating grant proposals in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations, policies, and evaluation factors.
- Review requirements for new or follow-on grants and identify potential issues to achieve clear mutual understanding of grant requirements.
- Present, analyze, and verify data, techniques, methodologies, and formats associated with grants management activities.
- Facilitate communication among project team members, stakeholders, and leadership; manage correspondence and monitor task completion to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure correctness and adherence to applicable federal and agency standards, policies, and procedures.
- Observe and extend appropriate military and government protocol.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of related experience as a federal government and/or contractor employee in a grants management specialist, grants analyst, or grants policy analyst capacity (GS-1102, GS-1109, or equivalent)
- Extensive knowledge or understanding of federal and DoD grants principles, including 2 CFR 200 and Department of Defense Grants and Agreement Regulations (DoDGARS), DoD Directives and Instructions, laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Knowledge or understanding of cost principles in determining cost reasonableness, allowability, and allocability.
- Knowledge or understanding of fact-finding, analysis, and resolution of complex problems, with the ability to develop concrete action plans.
- Familiarity with budget and/or federal cost principles.
- Familiarity with federal grant/contract writing systems.
- Proficiency in SharePoint and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Prior DoD, Military, or federal defense health agency experience as a Grants Specialist or Contract Analyst (preferred).
- GS-1102 or GS-1109 series experience (preferred).
