About the role

  • Support assigned litigation matters throughout the litigation lifecycle, including tracking deadlines and maintaining organized electronic case files.
  • Draft and prepare initial versions of pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence under attorney supervision.
  • Assist with discovery processes, including document collection, organization, review coordination, and production support.
  • Prepare materials for hearings, depositions, and trials, including binders and exhibit organizations.
  • Assist attorneys with witness preparation logistics for depositions and hearings.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research at the direction of Legal and Compliance leadership.
  • Assist with regulatory filings, licensing renewals, and maintenance of required documentation.
  • Support responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and information requests.
  • Monitor and summarize regulatory developments and legislation relevant to the business.
  • Assist with updates to internal policies, procedures, and training materials to support compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate and communicate with in‑house counsel, outside counsel, and internal business partners on routine legal matters.
  • Maintain accuracy and organization within legal matter management and document management systems.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Legal team as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or related field; paralegal certificate preferred.
  • 4–5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in a corporate legal department or law firm environment.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state court rules and basic eDiscovery processes.
  • Familiarity with consumer finance or other regulated industry frameworks (e.g., ECOA, TILA, UDAAP, FCRA) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines in a structured environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and take direction from attorneys and senior team members.
  • Professional judgment and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn in a changing regulatory and business environment.
