About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, design and execute automated regression test scenarios;
- Develop and maintain test automation scripts;
- Validate batch and online processes in a Mainframe environment;
- Test services, APIs, console applications and .NET systems;
- Ensure the integrity of integrations between Mainframe and lower-platform systems;
- Validate business rules, operational workflows and data processing;
- Perform queries and validations on DB2 databases;
- Identify, log, document and track defects through to resolution;
- Create and maintain test evidence and documentation;
- Support system acceptance testing and deployments;
- Work closely with development, support/maintenance and business teams;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality and automation processes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Information Systems;
- Technical expertise in automating regression tests involving high-level (Mainframe) and lower-platform systems;
- Strong experience with automated testing of COBOL systems (batch jobs and online) and .NET (services, console applications and APIs);
- Solid experience with database technologies;
- Technical knowledge of:
- COBOL, JCL, CICS, TSO/ISPF and DB2;
- .NET Framework and .NET Core;
- REST APIs and services;
- Functional and regression test automation;
- SQL for data validation and traceability;
- Tools such as Selenium, UFT, Postman, Git, Azure DevOps, Jira and Jenkins;
- Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban);
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
- Desirable certifications:
- ISTQB Foundation Level;
- ISTQB Test Automation Engineer;
- PSM I or CSM;
- IBM Mainframe Practitioner;
- IBM DB2 Associate;
- Azure DevOps Engineer;
- Postman API Fundamentals.
