About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design and development of complex systems that automate complex workflows, support data-driven decision-making, and enhance healthcare technology platforms
- Design and build event-driven, data-intensive backend services in Node.js / TypeScript using Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL), ECS, and SQS to support AI workloads at scale
- Decompose complex healthcare and AI workflows into a microservices architecture, defining service boundaries and data ownership
- Design synchronous REST and asynchronous messaging (SQS/event-driven) inter-service communication patterns
- Deliver independently deployable, loosely coupled services that scale and fail independently
- Drive a test-driven development (TDD) practice across the team
- Develop AI pipelines processing structured and unstructured data for intelligent decision systems
- Design and implement scalable AI-enabled systems and services for mission-critical healthcare platforms
- Design cloud-native architectures and distributed systems supporting AI-driven applications
- Collaborate with engineering teams, product stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and technical leadership to translate requirements and research concepts into deployable solutions
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and project success
- Complete fingerprinting at a government facility and undergo a background check as part of the hiring process
