About the role
- Own project delivery end-to-end: Lead planning, execution, and delivery across the full project lifecycle—from kickoff through go-live and beyond.
- Drive fast, iterative cycles: Structure work into small, shippable increments aligned with VBT's 8–12 week delivery model.
- Prioritize ruthlessly.
- Manage multiple workstreams: Context-switch effectively across clients and projects while maintaining quality and visibility on all fronts.
- Partner with Project Partners and clients: Align on scope, priorities, and trade-offs.
- Translate business needs into actionable plans for delivery teams.
- Keep delivery teams unblocked: Anticipate risks, surface blockers early, and take action to keep engineers and designers focused on high-value work.
- Use AI tools as a force multiplier: Leverage ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools to accelerate your own workflows—planning, documentation, communication, analysis.
- Own project financials: Track budgets, hours, and resource utilization. Flag deviations early and adjust plans accordingly.
- Communicate with clarity and urgency: Set expectations, escalate appropriately, and keep stakeholders informed without noise.
- Adapt process to context: Apply agile principles pragmatically—not by the book, but in service of outcomes. Know when to flex and when to hold the line.
Requirements
- 5+ years managing software delivery projects, ideally in consulting, agency, or client-embedded environments
- Experience with AI/Gen-AI projects or a demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on technical concepts and communicate effectively with engineering teams building AI systems
- Hands-on use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) to improve your own productivity and workflows
- Strong command of agile principles —Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid approaches—with the judgment to adapt process to the situation rather than follow a playbook
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Tempo, Linear, or similar
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; able to lead client calls, write clear documentation, and navigate difficult conversations.
- High tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to make decisions with incomplete information.
- Strong prioritization instincts —you know what matters and what can wait.
- Empathy and conflict-resolution skills —you keep teams motivated and aligned even when things get hard.
Benefits
- Competitive salary based on experience and location, plus performance upside
- Flexible PTO
- True remote work
