About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Soft-tissue and orthopedic surgery, as well as emergency surgery (approximately 400 procedures per year)
Planned: a state-of-the-art, newly built hospital with 3 operating theatres (2 theatres for procedures under general anaesthesia and 1 theatre for standing procedures)
Modern operating theatre equipment
CT-assisted procedures (Qalibra CT scanner with Canon Aquilion LB Exceed)
Broad range of diagnostic options, e.g. ultrasound, X-ray, endoscopy, CT
Leadership/management of the surgical department with many opportunities to implement new ideas and suggestions
Close collaboration with the entire hospital team and international consulting surgeons

Requirements

What you’ll need

Specialist veterinarian in equine medicine and/or ECVS Diplomate
Independent working style paired with team spirit, a reliable work ethic and innovative ideas
Motivation to develop and shape the equine surgical department in a forward-looking manner and to advance it to current standards
Willingness to participate in weekend and emergency shifts
Ability to take responsibility and maintain an overview even during busy or challenging periods
