About the role
- Lead and oversee solar projects from early-stage development through engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments to ensure successful execution and financial performance.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction, to align project goals and deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, permitting agencies, utilities, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as interconnection and permitting requirements.
- Monitor project performance metrics and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to keep projects on track.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, ensuring clear communication and accountability for key milestones.
- Review and manage contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Prepare and present project reports, updates, and documentation for leadership and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall execution.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within the solar, renewable energy, or construction industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of managing C&I and/or Utility-Scale solar projects from development through execution.
- Strong understanding of project financing, permitting, interconnection, procurement, and construction processes.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet) and familiarity with construction management platforms (e.g., Procore).
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills to effectively coordinate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience managing project budgets, forecasting costs, and negotiating contracts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements for solar project development and execution.
