About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist Project Managers with engineering design for water and wastewater facilities using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
- Perform technical engineering work associated with water and wastewater engineering
- Prepare engineering reports and feasibility studies
- Develop engineering-related calculations and visual aids
- Develop hydraulic models and perform engineering analysis
- Participate in field investigations
- Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles
- Complete permitting applications
- Attend meetings with officials, engineers, and contractors
- Contribute to planning, evaluation, design, permitting, and construction across the project lifecycle
- Support rehabilitation of aging infrastructure and development of water supply, treatment, storage, distribution, wastewater collection, pumping, treatment, and disposal systems
- Conduct system reviews, alternative analyses, equipment evaluation and selection, and coordinate with regulatory agencies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in water/wastewater or other related field
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred
- 4-7 years of experience in water & wastewater or related civil engineering projects, including design, analysis, and studies
- Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Familiar with computer models for hydraulic system analysis
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
