About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform civil engineering design and technical analysis for commercial, industrial, institutional, residential, mixed-use, and energy land development projects
- Prepare and review site development plans, grading plans, utility plans, and construction documents
- Design and analyze stormwater management systems, drainage and conveyance infrastructure, erosion and sediment control measures, site grading and earthwork, roadway and access improvements, and utility infrastructure systems
- Coordinate permitting efforts and prepare applications for municipal, county, and state review agencies
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and project delivery activities
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams
- Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed
- Assist with proposal preparation, technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff while continuing professional development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 4-8 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development and site design
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress
- Experience preparing land development plans and permit applications
- Knowledge of site layout and design, stormwater management, grading and drainage design, utility infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, and local and state permitting processes
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing effectively to project teams
