Key responsibilities & impact- Provide visible, accountable local leadership for the Delaware and Maryland teams
- Represent Verdantas externally with municipal, county, state, institutional, and private-sector clients
- Maintain external visibility through client meetings, industry events, professional organizations, and community engagement
- Identify, position for, and pursue transportation, municipal, planning, environmental, and infrastructure opportunities
- Develop pursuit strategies, teaming approaches, and proposal positioning
- Support project delivery, resource planning, quality standards, and risk management procedures
- Support delivery of transportation, municipal, and multidisciplinary projects meeting schedule, budget, quality, communication, and responsiveness expectations
- Advance the Delaware and broader Delmarva growth strategy
- Foster collaboration and cross-selling across multiple service lines
- Expand municipal engineering, roadway and traffic engineering, complete streets, multimodal planning, stormwater, permitting, and grant-funded infrastructure programs
- Participate in strategizing potential growth areas for the group and MidAtlantic Division
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Planning, Environmental Science, Construction Management, Business, or a related field
- 24+ years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, consulting, project management, operations, or public-sector infrastructure services
- Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Planner, Project Management Professional (PMP), or other relevant professional credential preferred
- Delaware and/or Maryland professional registration or ability to obtain registration preferred, as applicable to the candidate’s discipline
- Demonstrated experience developing staff, growing teams, coordinating office operations, and managing multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of Delaware and/or Maryland public-sector markets, municipal clients, transportation agencies, and regional infrastructure needs and trends
- Experience supporting business development, client relationship management, proposals, and project delivery
- Existing relationships and name recognition with relevant transportation, municipal, county, public works, institutional, or infrastructure organizations preferred
- Background in transportation, government, planning, municipal engineering, roadway and traffic engineering, complete streets, multimodal planning, land development, environmental permitting, utility coordination, or grant-funded public infrastructure programs preferred
- Ability to build trust and collaboration across offices, disciplines, service lines, and leadership groups
- Active external involvement in relevant professional and civic organizations preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
