About the role
- Administer and support SAP databases (e.g., HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) across development, QA, and production environments
- Monitor database performance, capacity, and availability; identify and resolve issues proactively
- Perform database installations, upgrades, patches, and refreshes in coordination with SAP Basis and infrastructure teams
- Execute regular backup, recovery, and restore procedures; validate disaster recovery readiness
- Support system copies, client copies, and data refresh activities
- Assist with performance tuning, indexing, and SQL optimization
- Manage database security, permissions, and access controls in line with company policies
- Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures
- Participate in on-call or after-hours support as required (for planned activities or incidents)
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, preferably supporting SAP environments
- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA and/or other SAP-supported databases
- Familiarity with SAP landscapes and integration with SAP Basis
- Experience with backup and recovery tools, performance monitoring, and basic tuning
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
- Understanding of database security and compliance best practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
