About the role

  • Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of complex commercial contracts, such as vendor and commercial agreements, strategic partnership agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, legal risk, and the practical implications of contract terms on business operations.
  • Lead negotiations and provide legal counsel on strategic partnerships, network membership agreements, and corporate investment transactions.
  • Collaborate with the product organization and cross-functional stakeholders to provide legal guidance throughout the product development lifecycle, including go-to-market strategies and regulatory considerations.
  • Advise on corporate insurance matters, including coverage evaluation, policy review, and claims-related advice.
  • Provide legal support on corporate governance matters, including entity management, registration, and internal policies.
  • Advise on information security and privacy issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
  • Assist senior internal counsel with matters including legal research projects and commercial disputes.
  • Act as a trusted legal partner to cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Finance, Technology, Product, and Operations, supporting day-to-day legal needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to travel as needed to successfully perform position responsibilities, and handle disruptive work schedules, deadlines and unpredictable events.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree and JD Degree (from ABA accredited law school) required.
  • Admission to a state bar with an active membership in good standing required.
  • Five (5) years’ experience as an attorney in drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately identify legal and business issues and risks.
  • Familiarity with the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act, National Credit Union Administration regulations and data privacy laws preferred.
  • Exposure to contract disputes, including dispute resolution and/or litigation is preferred.
  • Experience within a corporate legal environment preferred.
  • Experience working in the technology or financial services sector preferred.
