About the role

  • Assist on network projects; execute assigned tasks and provide status updates.
  • Provide input on network implementation details (ports, VLANs, AP placement) per established designs.
  • Support data center operations by performing routine checks on network devices and documenting results.
  • Install, replace, and maintain switches, access points, and related network hardware under standard templates.
  • Coordinate with vendors/ISPs/MSP on circuit issues; open and track tickets; validate restoration.
  • Perform basic WAN support activities (evidence gathering, failover verification) as directed.
  • Support VoIP systems.
  • Assist Help Desk and Field Techs with network-related implementations (port turn‑ups, jack activation, AP swaps).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve entry‑level network hardware and connectivity issues
  • Prepare and execute low‑risk, pre‑approved changes (e.g., port/VLAN updates, simple firewall requests) with before/after validation.
  • Document current site network details: closet layouts, patch panel ‑ switchport maps, AP locations, device inventories, and circuit records.
  • Maintain configuration hygiene: ensure configs are backed up, follow naming conventions, and align with standard templates.
  • Adhere to change management procedures; record who/what/when/why with pre/post screenshots or config diffs.
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures, including confidentiality and data handling requirements.
  • Perform after hours installations and configurations as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in computer science or equivalent in education and appropriate IT experience. (Preferred)
  • CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification
  • 2-5 years of IT related experience
  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools, IP addressing/subnetting, VLANs, and cabling standards.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; ability to document work accurately and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, applications, and technologies.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach

  • Moderate stress position that will require individual to be flexible in their work schedule and may require daily travel to be present a various health center sites.

  • Position may require sitting or standing for extended periods of time as well as bending, reaching, etc.
  • Position functions within a normal office environment majority of the time. Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Saturday-Sunday possible on call
