About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Fulfill the needs of Diagnostic Imaging patients across a variety of age groups, as well as their family members and the community
Perform varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements
Provide nursing care during the evening shift from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm, five days a week
Work every other weekend and one holiday per year
Collaborate cooperatively with health system and multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, rehabilitation, respiratory, Diagnostic Imaging, and laboratory staff
Use time management skills to set priorities, solve problems, and deliver care
Function effectively in stressful and changing environments involving acute, chronic, complex, and terminal disease processes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
Current/valid State of New Jersey license or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing
Completion of general nursing orientation
CPR certification
ACLS certification
PALS certification
Completion of unit-based orientation
Computer and keyboard skills
Medical terminology required
Cat Scan and MRI experience preferred; unit-based training provided to qualified candidates
Radiology experience preferred; experienced applicants may be trained
Ability to perform physical tasks including assisting patients, stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly, with assistance according to NIOSH guidelines
Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Constant talking and listening in English
Effective oral and written communication skills and speech clarity
Understanding relayed information and deductive and inductive reasoning skills
Considerable walking, standing, sitting, reaching, filing, typing, and photocopying
Accuracy and attention to detail while changing tasks
Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environments
Ability to work cooperatively with multidisciplinary team members
Effective time management, prioritization, problem-solving, and care-delivery skills
