About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Fulfill the needs of Diagnostic Imaging patients across a variety of age groups, as well as their family members and the community
- Perform varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements
- Provide nursing care during the evening shift from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm, five days a week
- Work every other weekend and one holiday per year
- Collaborate cooperatively with health system and multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, rehabilitation, respiratory, Diagnostic Imaging, and laboratory staff
- Use time management skills to set priorities, solve problems, and deliver care
- Function effectively in stressful and changing environments involving acute, chronic, complex, and terminal disease processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Current/valid State of New Jersey license or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing
- Completion of general nursing orientation
- CPR certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- Completion of unit-based orientation
- Computer and keyboard skills
- Medical terminology required
- Cat Scan and MRI experience preferred; unit-based training provided to qualified candidates
- Radiology experience preferred; experienced applicants may be trained
- Ability to perform physical tasks including assisting patients, stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly, with assistance according to NIOSH guidelines
- Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Constant talking and listening in English
- Effective oral and written communication skills and speech clarity
- Understanding relayed information and deductive and inductive reasoning skills
- Considerable walking, standing, sitting, reaching, filing, typing, and photocopying
- Accuracy and attention to detail while changing tasks
- Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environments
- Ability to work cooperatively with multidisciplinary team members
- Effective time management, prioritization, problem-solving, and care-delivery skills
