About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise Central Processing personnel
- Coordinate all departmental activities
- Assess, standardize, and monitor sterilization equipment, protocols, and practices across the Valley Health System
- Oversee sterilization practices for the hospital, Luckow Pavilion, and Valley Medical Group practices
- Submit regular reports to the Infection Control Committee
- Implement new ideas using AAMI standards as a reference
- Set priorities and respond quickly to emergent situations
- Problem-solve and follow through to resolve issues and concerns
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Central Service Technician course recognized by the New Jersey Department of Health
- National Central Service Technician Certification required
- Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) required
- Five plus years of verifiable Central Processing experience
- Good hand-eye coordination and basic math skills
- Ability to communicate and write in English
- Effective customer relation, supervisory, and analytical skills
- Ability to problem-solve and follow through to resolve issues, concerns, and problems
- Effective time management and ability to set priorities and respond quickly to emergent situations
- Attention to detail and ability to perform work accurately while changing tasks
- Understanding of AAMI standards
