About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Prepare for and operate a CT Scanner according to specific physician orders
Produce detailed computer-generated patient scans for diagnostic and interventional information
Assist patients onto the scanner
Verify patient identification prior to scanning
Select patients from the worklist
Ensure examinations are archived on PACS and properly completed in RIS
Maintain facilities in proper order
Keep abreast of new CT procedures
Report to and function under the general supervision of the Supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completion of an accredited Radiology Technology program
Registration by the ARRT in CT
Registered in Radiologic Technology with advanced CT certification from the ARRT
Current and valid license from the State of NJ DEP
Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association
BLS certification required
One year of practical experience as a staff radiologic technologist preferred
CT experience preferred
Physical dexterity to operate sensitive equipment
Ability to perform a variety of CT exams on patients
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and vascular systems
Ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing, and in presentations
Ability to perform tasks accurately with attention to detail
Ability to change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
Ability to function independently and competently in stressful situations
Ability to respond positively to changes in the work environment
Ability to work well in various settings and adjust according to patient needs
Ability to work cooperatively with patients, family members, co-workers, physicians, Patient Care Services staff, and multidisciplinary team members
Ability to use effective time management and prioritize responsibilities
Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills for problem-solving
Existing employees must obtain advanced CT Certification within one year of employment
