About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare for and operate a CT Scanner according to specific physician orders
  • Produce detailed computer-generated patient scans for diagnostic and interventional information
  • Assist patients onto the scanner
  • Verify patient identification prior to scanning
  • Select patients from the worklist
  • Ensure examinations are archived on PACS and properly completed in RIS
  • Maintain facilities in proper order
  • Keep abreast of new CT procedures
  • Report to and function under the general supervision of the Supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completion of an accredited Radiology Technology program
  • Registration by the ARRT in CT
  • Registered in Radiologic Technology with advanced CT certification from the ARRT
  • Current and valid license from the State of NJ DEP
  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification required
  • One year of practical experience as a staff radiologic technologist preferred
  • CT experience preferred
  • Physical dexterity to operate sensitive equipment
  • Ability to perform a variety of CT exams on patients
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and vascular systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing, and in presentations
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately with attention to detail
  • Ability to change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
  • Ability to function independently and competently in stressful situations
  • Ability to respond positively to changes in the work environment
  • Ability to work well in various settings and adjust according to patient needs
  • Ability to work cooperatively with patients, family members, co-workers, physicians, Patient Care Services staff, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Ability to use effective time management and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
  • Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills for problem-solving
  • Existing employees must obtain advanced CT Certification within one year of employment
