About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage surgery schedules for multiple physicians
  • Coordinate between patients, multiple physicians, anesthesia providers, laboratories, and other medical representatives
  • Ensure proper documentation for all orders pertaining to the requested surgery or admission
  • Follow up on any outstanding issues to ensure surgery is performed at scheduled time
  • Educate patient on all aspects of the surgery
  • Coordinate with PCP for medical/cardiac clearance
  • Obtain copy of results and forward to hospital/out-patient facility
  • Track all scheduled cases and note circumstances for delayed, cancelled or postponed surgeries

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Proficiency with Office 365
  • Proficiency with PDF documents
  • Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Previous experience with verification of eligibility and benefits, referrals, and pre-authorizations
  • Medical Assistant certification
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Previous surgery scheduling experience preferred
