About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage surgery schedules for multiple physicians
Coordinate between patients, multiple physicians, anesthesia providers, laboratories, and other medical representatives
Ensure proper documentation for all orders pertaining to the requested surgery or admission
Follow up on any outstanding issues to ensure surgery is performed at scheduled time
Educate patient on all aspects of the surgery
Coordinate with PCP for medical/cardiac clearance
Obtain copy of results and forward to hospital/out-patient facility
Track all scheduled cases and note circumstances for delayed, cancelled or postponed surgeries

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED required
Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR)
Proficiency with Office 365
Proficiency with PDF documents
Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
Previous experience with verification of eligibility and benefits, referrals, and pre-authorizations
Medical Assistant certification
Bilingual Spanish preferred
Previous surgery scheduling experience preferred
