Collaborate with game designers and environment artists to build a diverse range of locations within the game
Define the vision and player experience for dedicated locations, combining your ideas with gameplay systems, art and narrative to create memorable spaces
Prototype and iterate on layouts, traversal challenges, puzzles and environmental interactions to bring that vision to life
Collaborate with the world design lead to refine tools, workflows and pipelines for open world creation
Mentor and provide feedback to other level designers, helping raise the quality bar across the team
Share progress regularly, give and receive feedback, and iterate based on playtesting and team input
Design memorable locations that blend exploration, challenge and wonder; work with environment artists and game designers to create a believable underwater world
Requirements
5+ years experience as a Level Designer or World Designer on open world, survival or sandbox games, having shipped at least one shipped title in the role
Expertise in Unreal Engine (UE4 or UE5) including landscape sculpting, prop placement and foliage workflows
Strong understanding of level design principles such as flow, pacing, player guidance and environmental storytelling
Ability to work effectively demonstrating excellent communications skills in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment
Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working remotely
