About the role
- Drive state-of-the-art visuals by applying relevant, modern techniques and trends.
- Develop and implement shaders, materials, atmospheric effects, skyboxes, and other applicable techniques in Unreal Engine.
- Build and refine art pipelines to enable efficient, high-quality asset production.
- Enforce art budgets and assist with rendering optimization to ensure framerate and platform targets are met.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to elevate the team’s overall expertise.
- Participate in team playtests to evaluate game visuals as a holistic part of the player experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional technical art experience, including at least one shipped title from pre-production through launch.
- Deep expertise in Unreal Engine and advanced knowledge of its feature set.
- Proficiency with shader development and scripting (Blueprints, Python, or equivalent).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate enthusiastically across art, design, and engineering disciplines to solve complex visual and technical challenges.
- Strong initiative, curiosity, and organizational ability.
- Experience with industry-standard content creation tools such as Substance Designer/Painter and Houdini.
