About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and support meaningful relationships with Tribal schools and districts, Tribal education departments, national education associations, and organizations serving K–12 students and communities
  • Manage considerable travel and engage with education leaders, Tribal government representatives, school and district administrators, and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and Specialists after execution of Tribal Strategic Alliance Agreement addenda
  • Develop and nurture relationships with Tribal education offices, Tribal governments, schools, districts, and national associations
  • Identify needs and potential gaps and help develop personalized strategies supporting organizational, workforce, and community success
  • Represent University of Phoenix within Tribal, K–12, and higher education communities
  • Increase awareness of educational programs, resources, and workforce development opportunities
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for Tribal stakeholders
  • Launch newly executed TSAA agreements and triage and resolve incoming client requests
  • Develop and execute account plans and engagement, marketing, promotional, and event strategies
  • Develop and deliver presentations to Tribal entity stakeholders and influencers
  • Maintain market and segment knowledge and identify potential Tribal entities aligned with University strategic objectives
  • Report progress to leadership and update account plans in SRM and prepare internal and external account review materials
  • Maintain knowledge of certificates, professional development, and degree programs and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Execute engagement strategies across Tribal entities’ geographic footprints and establish communications cadence and formats
  • Support Tribal Engagement Specialists in uncovering direct member and employee engagement opportunities
  • Attend approved internal and external events, including weeknights and weekends, with possible out-of-local or out-of-state travel
  • Organize and prepare approved client events
  • Collaborate with internal Tribal stakeholders and university departments on client relationship management and strategic offerings
  • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) years of related business development and/or sales experience working with Tribal education offices, governments, enterprises, schools, colleges, or healthcare facilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Tribal culture and known educational learning barriers, and successful engagement experience with Tribal leadership, membership, employers, and employees
  • Customer service oriented and experience achieving high levels of employer/Tribal entity strategic engagement
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Able to effectively manage and perform work remotely from a home-based office with limited local supervision and maintain consistent accountability for expected outcomes
  • Exceptional skills presenting to large audiences
  • Proven results in business development, specifically gap mitigation methodology; strong business acumen and the ability to recognize marketing and business development opportunities
  • Able to quickly assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and excellent implementation of tasks/projects; strong commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Able to multi-task and meet daily/weekly deadlines
  • Master’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., Business, Management, Marketing) (additional qualification)
  • One (1) year of experience in the higher ed market or Tribal industry, particularly as it relates to adult learners (additional qualification)
