About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Overseeing end-to-end operational functions that support effective program delivery and strategic alignment.
- Lead efforts to create a positive, inclusive work culture, while promoting continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and alignment with the Universities Strategic Framework.
- Ensures operational excellence through sound project management, resource planning, and data-driven decision-making.
- Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for wellness programming that fosters the multi-dimensional well-being of students at the university.
- Development, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion initiatives, including prevention strategies that address mental, physical, and emotional health.
- Working collaboratively with internal and external partners, lead a highly diverse team and ensures services are inclusive, accessible, evidence-informed, student-centered, and aligned with institutional priorities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Sector, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in program operations, including team leadership and project management.
- Experience in a nonprofit, education, or human services environment is considered an asset.
- Understanding of human resources practices including recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement.
- Familiarity with nonprofit or program-based operational management, including budgeting and resource planning.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and continuous improvement principles.
- Strong knowledge of equity-informed, trauma-informed, person-centred and culturally responsive approaches to wellness.
- Understanding of data analytics for program evaluation and performance measurement.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with experience in team development.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills with a focus on operational excellence.
- Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in developing and using systems for resource management and data tracking.
- High emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations.
- Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret data and use insights to drive program and organizational improvement.
