About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for supporting Radiology Operations, supporting radiologists, technologists, and/or other physicians requiring radiology assistance.
- Responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality while processing patient’s Radiology exams and reports including accurate and efficient image management.
- Contributes to the effective operation of University Hospitals and the Radiology Department.
- Provides support of the Radiology supported systems (examples: PACS, IDX, ect) including training, monitoring, and administration.
- Working Collaboratively with Physicians/Co-Workers/Patients in a professional and effective manner.
- Participating in on-call assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Equivalent / GED High School Diploma (Required) or Associate's Degree Associates Degree (Preferred)
- 1+ years PACS administration experience (Preferred)
- 1+ years Minimum experience with Radiology PACS system, Image management, Release of Medical Information, & customer service (Required)
- 1+ years Experience in a patient service environment and preferably in a healthcare environment (Required)
- Experience in a patient service environment and preferably in a healthcare environment (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of Medical terminology, specifically radiology terminology. (Required proficiency)
- Extensive experience with computers, fax machine, RIS and HIS systems, Terminal digit filing system, photocopiers, printers. (Required proficiency)
- Extensive experience with PC software packages, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, working knowledge of IDX Radiology system. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to multitask. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to work independently. (Required proficiency)
- Create user documentation. (Required proficiency)
- Train junior members of staff. (Required proficiency)
- Understand radiology terminology and familiar with radiology modalities. (Required proficiency)
- Good verbal and written communication skills. (Required proficiency)
