About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee non-clinical operations, including regulatory, privacy standards and compliance, fleet, inventory and supply management, and facilities maintenance
  • Provide business analytics and manage vendor relationships
  • Support operational innovation
  • Identify compliance issues and violations through audits, investigations, inspections and assessments
  • Monitor and implement changes in EMS regulations, including WV EMS Regulations and related equipment lists
  • Recommend policy and training updates to maintain compliance
  • Provide input into emergency response plans and coordinate with public health and safety agencies
  • Serve as Safety Committee chair and lead monthly safety hazard audits
  • Oversee Bio Med maintenance, grant and policy management, and mutual aid agreements
  • Manage vendor relationships for equipment and facility maintenance
  • Develop data collection and analysis systems to assess risk and resolve operational problems
  • Maintain vendor relationships, asset management and tracking, and insurance policies
  • Manage insurance claims and renewals and seek new vendor partnerships
  • Support risk management strategies and provide regulatory and compliance guidance
  • Oversee logistics, fleet and facility maintenance related to regulatory compliance and state licensure
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments
  • Monitor relevant laws and regulations and update company policies
  • Recommend and provide compliance training and education to employees
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory agencies
  • Advise senior management on compliance matters and potential risks
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation
  • Remain informed about industry trends and compliance best practices
  • Participate in compliance-related meetings
  • Serve as the HIPAA Privacy Officer for the agency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Operations, or Business Administration
  • EMT Licensed clinical provider
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Three (3) years of experience working in Emergency Medical Services, Healthcare or Operations
  • Advanced understanding of EMS-specific laws and standards
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to ensure accuracy in licensing, permitting, and compliance records
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make sound decisions
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local EMS regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, OEMS, DEA, Board of Pharmacy and other healthcare compliance frameworks
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and transfer boxes and/or equipment up to twenty-four pounds
  • Ability to twist upper body while moving boxes and/or equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, reach, stoop, bend and crouch for extended time periods
  • Ability to smell and identify odors
  • Ability to use close, distant and peripheral vision, depth perception, and visual focus
  • Ability to clearly hear and interpret voice and telephone communication
