About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design methods for atom-light operations such as sub-Doppler cooling, state preparation and detection and quantum gates
Contribute to the development of accurate physics models describing atom-light interactions
Work with the hardware teams to implement methods on our devices
Analyse experimental results and compare them against predictions from models

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in designing atom-light interaction protocols for quantum technologies
Strong background in atomic physics research
A proven track record of collaboration with experimental research groups and/or quantum hardware industry
Proficient in writing scientific code e.g. using Python
PhD in atomic physics
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results in the field of research.
Experience in quantum computing or quantum technologies (nice-to-have)
Experience in modelling open quantum systems (nice-to-have)
