About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate and tend machines to mix or blend materials
  • Maintain equipment and prepare materials for usage, storage, or shipment
  • Independently adjust machines, reattach parts, set speeds, and adjust settings for operational efficiency
  • Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, and products to meet requirements
  • Read work orders to determine production specifications
  • Monitor production equipment for safe and efficient operation
  • Mix or blend ingredients for specified times
  • Load specified material quantities into machinery
  • Stop machines when product qualities are achieved and transfer mixtures using valves and pumps
  • Adhere accurately and timely to the production schedule
  • Participate in SOP creation, standard settings, and continuous improvement activities
  • Conduct quality checks and sampling and complete line checks
  • Record production data and make process adjustments based on findings
  • Clean equipment and facilities
  • Identify and correct problems or notify appropriate resources
  • Stop, reset, and troubleshoot malfunctioning machines; clear jams and report defects
  • Prepare, stage, and set raw and packing materials using powered industrial equipment
  • Fill blenders according to bills of material
  • Fill bag liners to proper weights, heat-seal bags, and tape-seal cases
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–3 years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment; food manufacturing preferred
  • Understanding of production procedures preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate powered industrial equipment
  • Ability to work with diverse staff and coworkers involved in production
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, and able to use good judgment
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to change
  • Ability to identify improvement areas in complex problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions
  • Ability to work across departments based on business needs
  • English comprehension, including speaking, reading, and writing, required for workplace safety and effectiveness
