About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead multidisciplinary wound care teams across assigned care locations, conducting weekly wound rounds and house calls within your region
  • Deliver high-quality skin and wound care every visit, including assessment, dressing application, pressure relief, pain/odor management, and minor surgical procedures
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies to guide care decisions and build individualized treatment plans aligned with UWH's Clinical Practice Guidelines
  • Maintain timely documentation in UWH's wound care EMR to track healing progress
  • Collaborate virtually with UWH's board-certified medical physicians and surgeons across wound care, dermatology, podiatry, vascular surgery, and infectious disease

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP, FNP, ARNP, APRN) or Physician Assistant/Associate (PA-C), licensed in the state of employment
  • 1–2 years of wound care and/or surgical experience preferred but not required – extensive paid training is provided
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance – this role covers a regional territory
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills – you’ll work with patients, families, nursing staff, and medical leadership daily
  • Self-starter who can schedule and manage appointments independently with punctuality and professionalism
