About the role

  • Assisting the Deputy Chief Risk Officer, ERM in execution and maturation of the Enterprise Risk Management framework, including partnering with process owners to identify, mitigate, document, and monitor key risks and controls and perform routine risk assessments.
  • Assisting the Deputy Chief Risk Officer, ERM and the Chief Risk Officer with day-to-day tasks related to key enterprise risk functions such as Business Continuity, Third-Party/Vendor Management, Issues Management, RCSA, Business Change Risk Assessments, Model Risk Management, Risk Management Reporting, and other risk related assessments and projects.
  • Maintains a risk mindset while performing day-to-day activities and escalates key concerns and exposures to management.
  • Assists process owners with development and revisions of key policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Bank Risk Management, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 7 years of audit, finance, operations, or risk management experience, preferably with financial institutions exceeding $4-10 billion in asset size.
  • Professional Risk/Audit/Accounting Certification(s) preferred, but not required.
  • Adequate Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations pertaining to risk management and regulatory reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong initiative with exceptional analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Effective organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage projects through to completion on time and within budget.
  • Ability to successfully build strong working relationships and interact with associates at multiple levels of management.
  • Ability to identify and effectively challenge business lines/functions on activities, risks and controls and escalate unresolved issues to management.
