Head of Culture & Languages Department
UniLaSalleResponsable du Pôle Culture & Langues at UniLaSalle managing a team of language educators and coordinating curriculum development. Oversee language certifications and student support throughout their academic journey.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manages the teaching team (recruitment, support, professional development) within the framework of educational programs
- Defines annual programs and objectives and ensures their proper implementation
- Reviews assessments, tests and grades, and participates in examination/jury panels
- Develops educational projects and implements pedagogical innovations
- Coordinates language instruction and facilitates collaboration among language teachers
- Supports team teachers to ensure smooth course delivery
- Teaches one or more languages
- Supports students in self-directed learning and/or in improving their language proficiency
- May supervise international groups on short programs
- May carry out translations from the foreign language into their native language
- May provide language teaching services internally or to external professional clients
- Participates in student support — both pedagogical and personal — throughout their studies at UniLaSalle, including support for students with disabilities
- Is responsible for official certifications for all languages taught on campus
- Is in charge of organizing and monitoring official language examinations
- Performs any assignment given by the Director of Studies that is necessary for the effective operation of the Culture & Languages Department
- Contributes, through these various responsibilities, to the institution’s visibility at regional, national and international levels
- Participates in open days and/or trade shows
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree (Bac+5) minimum and an advanced qualification in languages
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
- Ability to work across disciplinary fields (from fundamental sciences to business studies)
- Strong teaching abilities
- Supervisory and team management skills
- Proficiency with office software; familiarity with ICT/new technologies is desirable
- Thoroughness and methodical approach
