About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Installation, configuration and administration of databases, following best practices;
- Ensure the proper operation of the IT management system;
- Propose and implement improvements to databases;
- Support the development of database automation;
- Develop database automations and ensure continuity of the processes;
- Monitor and handle events and alerts from environment control tools and review monitoring consoles;
- Identify, analyze and remediate vulnerabilities and security gaps in information assets;
- Perform and support internal and external audits;
- Be responsible for and participate in projects;
- Monitor company communication channels and provide support and assistance to users;
- Document all executed actions in tasks and keep backlog tools up to date;
- Contribute to creating and updating procedures, standards and policies, as well as other environment documentation;
- Plan area actions and projects by estimating costs and presenting to senior management;
- Ensure applicability of the area’s processes, standards and policies;
- Improve internal processes by applying market frameworks.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience in Oracle Database administration, working in critical, corporate and high-availability environments.
- Advanced knowledge in:
- - Oracle Database;
- - Oracle RAC;
- - Oracle ASM;
- - Oracle Data Guard;
- - RMAN, backup, restore and recovery;
- - Performance tuning;
- - SQL analysis, execution plans, waits, locks, sessions and indexes;
- - Administration of tablespaces, datafiles, archivelogs, FRA, jobs, users, roles and profiles;
- - Applying patches, upgrades and maintenance in Oracle environments;
- - Database security, access management, auditing and hardening best practices;
- - Linux/Unix operating systems;
- - Shell scripting and/or PL/SQL for routine automation and operational support;
- - Database monitoring, capacity, availability and performance;
- - Handling critical incidents, root cause analysis and defining corrective and preventive actions.
- Differentials:
- - Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager;
- - Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate;
- - Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server or MongoDB;
- - Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana or similar;
- - Knowledge of Ansible, Python or other automation tools;
- - Experience in virtualized environments, cloud or corporate infrastructure.
