Counseling Student
Umoja PartnershipPracticum Student providing therapy to at-risk children and families. Gain experience with individual and family therapy under supervision in a Christian agency.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide individual and family therapy to FSK clients
- Participate in agency sponsored trainings, such as TBRI and The Strengths Model
- Supervision by a licensed clinician for practicum activities
- Provide documentation of activities to the student’s school
- Weekly stipend of $150, paid bi-weekly
- Mileage reimbursement if applicable
Requirements
What you’ll need- Set a schedule including providing an average of 8 hours of therapy per week and up to 2 hours of case management services
- Attend and participate in bi-weekly staffings and bi-weekly team meetings
- Maintain client files and documentation according to ethical/legal standards
- Meet school’s expectation of required practicum hours
- Keep in communication with practicum supervisor regarding schedule and case updates
- Utilize own devices (computer and cell phone)
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA standards for all assigned clients
- Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a risk-free driving record
- Willing to undergo screenings for child abuse/neglect, criminal history, and other qualifications
- Undergo a pre-employment drug screen and physical with no evidence of communicable disease
