About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and steward authentic relationships based on respect, understanding and advancing patient focused priorities
  • Embed patient and caregiver perspective and strategic insights from communities across business strategy, accelerating existing efforts and identifying new opportunities to meaningfully partner
  • Navigate internal stakeholder engagement and facilitate the compliant exchange of complex scientific information related to research, product development and commercialization
  • Partner with Government Affairs, Communications and Regulatory to ensure patient, caregiver and advocacy leader awareness of and engagement with regulatory agencies and policymakers on access and reimbursement issues
  • Demonstrate leadership within the Patient Advocacy team, across Ultragenyx, and externally to foster a best-in-class patient advocacy function
  • Oversee the patient advocacy budget and manage external strategic partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
  • 8+ years of patient advocacy experience
  • Rare disease experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Travel expected to be between 30%
