About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development and implementation of the estates’ information asset strategy
- Define and embed estate information policies, standards, processes and governance frameworks, including BIM (ISO 19650), asset information requirements and system assurance
- Lead adoption of an organisation-wide estate information management approach
- Escalate risks and opportunities associated with estate information assets using solution-focused, data-driven problem-solving
- Oversee integration of BIM, GIS, digital twins, CAFM/CMMS and smart-building technology platforms
- Provide oversight of AutoCAD drawings and procedures for consistent records
- Ensure governance, quality and lifecycle management of digital asset data
- Promote effective information flow across projects and operational functions
- Lead collaboration with DDaT, sustainability, facilities management, capital projects and external specialists
- Oversee condition survey data platforms and asset data, including commissioning related surveys
- Provide technical and architecture support, with training, for Smartsheet and BI management platforms
- Manage supplier and technology-partner relationships, performance, communication and reporting
- Act as principal subject matter expert for estate information management
- Support financial planning, monitoring and cost control for estate information activities
- Prepare briefing materials, technical summaries and updates for senior colleagues, governance groups and stakeholders
- Deputise for the Head of Estate on estate information management matters
- Represent the organisation at internal and external forums
- Ensure data and documentation storage systems are effective and efficient
- Enable regular reporting through digital platforms, including templates for efficient data collection and verification
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience of estate information management including electronic platforms
- Experience embedding consistent standards across sites for estate information management
- Experience strengthening estate compliance through clearer oversight and reporting
- Skills and experience supporting cross-team coordination and end-to-end workflow integration
- Experience building capability and confidence in new platforms and data-driven methods
- Ability to consider workloads and how platforms can enable more effective working
- Professional accreditation in Building Information Modelling (BIM)
- Experience using BIM and asset information management platforms, such as Revit and Navisworks
- Understanding of cybersecurity considerations for operational technology within public sector, scientific, technical sustainability, estates, or similar complex infrastructure environments
- Innovative, collaborative, analytical and stakeholder-focused approach
- Baseline Personnel Security Screening (BPSS) required as a pre-condition of employment
