About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain and develop AHRC’s portfolio reporting dashboards
Support governance and assurance activities
Facilitate project planning, risk management, and monitoring processes
Provide guidance on project management standards, templates, and reporting expectations
Embed standard methodology in delivery approaches
Produce portfolio insights for strategic decision making
Maintain portfolio, project, and programme reporting tools and dashboards
Coordinate and quality-assure status reports, risk logs, benefit tracking, and delivery plans
Prepare governance meeting papers, performance summaries, and portfolio insights
Support development, rollout, and continuous improvement of project and programme management standards
Provide guidance and training to project leads
Track delivery achievements and raise risks where required
Support evaluation and lessons-learned activities
Engage with other Research Councils to align processes and share best practice

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Ability to collect and interpret reporting requirements and translate them into clear PMO outputs
Experience with project or portfolio reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Solid attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high-quality reports
Ability to support and maintain repeatable PMO processes
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to engage confidently with colleagues at all levels
Ability to think creatively, propose solutions, and support decision making
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Confidence explaining PMO processes to non-technical colleagues
Baseline Personnel Security Screening (BPSS) is a pre-condition of employment
Ability to work occasional overnight stays and/or outside standard office hours
