About the role
- As a Senior Analyst at Research England, design and deliver analytical processes supporting the allocation of £2 billion of strategic institutional research funding
- Manage work areas from design, development, quality assurance, to delivery
- Provide analysis and dashboarding to support senior leaders in decision making
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify necessary data
- Develop knowledge of Higher Education sector data for funding allocations
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop, maintain and implement funding models
- Engage in quality assurance and publication processes for funding outcomes
- Identify and establish solutions for data gaps and process updates
- Produce financial reports for institutions
Requirements
- Degree in mathematics or another subject with significant numerical content or equivalent professional experience
- Experience of coding in R language to manipulate large complex datasets.
- Significant experience of analysing data including identifying relevant data sources and presenting analytical findings
- Able to provide significant input into technical or process development
- Experience of quality assurance processes, and an awareness of how these minimise errors in analytical outputs
- Strong written communication skills, including clarifying policy questions and guiding policy colleagues in interpretation of data
- Strong verbal communication skills, and able to explain technical details clearly, concisely, and tailored to the audience
- Able to plan and manage a varied and demanding workload and respond to changing priorities
