About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide instructional support to students with and without disabilities in a fully online learning environment under a Florida-certified teacher
- Serve as an instructional facilitator in the absence of an instructor
- Support specially designed instruction aligned to IEP goals and reinforce access to grade-level curriculum through approved accommodations
- Assist with synchronous and asynchronous learning activities
- Facilitate small-group instruction and targeted interventions
- Support differentiated instruction using evidence-based strategies and Universal Design for Learning principles
- Reinforce evidence-based reading instruction aligned to Florida standards
- Collect, organize, and document student data, observations, and work samples
- Support assessment data use, progress monitoring, interventions, and student mastery
- Assist with required assessments and standardized testing
- Maintain instructional documentation and student records
- Support PBIS- and MTSS-aligned academic and behavioral interventions
- Assist with IEPs and Section 504 Plans, including instructional supports, accommodations, and progress documentation
- Establish and maintain routines, expectations, and procedures for virtual learning
- Promote positive student behavior, attendance, and active participation
- Build relationships and communicate with families and parents/learning coaches regarding student progress and supports
- Participate in virtual staff meetings, collaborative planning, professional development, and school events
- Complete special education documentation and compliance-related tasks
- Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and professional conduct
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree or 2 years of college
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of blended and/or virtual experience, including students with and without disabilities
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including IEPs, Section 504 Plans, and English Learners
- Experience with virtual classroom management, student engagement strategies, and small-group instructional support
- Experience with educational technology, learning management systems, virtual platforms, and digital instructional tools
- Working knowledge of online curriculum, assessment systems, data privacy requirements, and instructional compliance
- Experience monitoring, analyzing, and using student performance data for instructional decisions and targeted interventions
- Ability and willingness to apply innovative and creative approaches to problem-solving and instructional support
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with teachers, school staff, and administrators
- Strong time management, organizational, adaptability, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced virtual environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional communication with families and Learning Coaches
- Demonstrated empathy, cultural responsiveness, professionalism, and reflective practice
- Commitment to continuous professional learning
- Reliable high-speed internet access
- Occasional in-person travel may be required for state-mandated testing, professional development, or other school-related activities
