About the role
- Review of translated texts and songs, and other productions of the organization from English to isiZulu.
- Review of audio and/or video files adapted into isiZulu provided by the dubbing partner.
- Maintain the standard of Ubongo scripts for both dialogue and songs: energetic, rhythmic, emote, age appropriate and professional.
- Review translations with an “edutainment - mindset”.
- Participate in translation review and quality control processes.
- Update reviewed isiZulu dubbing and adaptation content on google drive and physical hard drives where available.
- Liaise with Adaptation Manager, Adaptation Sound Engineer and dubbing partner to ensure smooth processes for content delivery.
- Maintain efficient communications and progress tracking systems with Ubongo.
Requirements
- A degree or qualification in Education, Early Childhood, Translation Studies or similar field.
- Fluent in both English and isiZulu.
- Proven experience in translation and/or language education.
- Experience teaching pre-school and primary school children, or working with children in education is an added advantage!
- Ability to learn new software as needed.
- Experience with G-suite and Google Drive and/or other online file storage systems.
- Creative, organized, flexible in project management, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Self-motivated and possess a high level of responsibility to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- English to isiZulu translation experience.
- Excellent understanding of South African Primary School Curriculum implementation.
