About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute a sector-aligned growth strategy integrating Merchant, Card, Treasury Management, Deposits, and broader PMI capabilities
  • Serve as senior sales leader accountable for sales strategy, execution discipline, pipeline quality, revenue realization, and deposit growth
  • Lead a complex industry group covering more than 10,000 relationships across public-sector verticals
  • Partner with Banking, Product, Sales, Risk, Credit, Operations, Compliance, and Marketing
  • Build sector-specific value propositions connecting industry trends, payment flows, liquidity, merchant acceptance, card opportunities, treasury transformation, and deposit growth
  • Lead sales management routines including account planning, opportunity inspection, pipeline governance, calling intensity, deal strategy, and growth accountability
  • Accelerate adoption of an end-to-end selling model across market opportunities
  • Identify and activate expansion opportunities in operating deposits, merchant growth, commercial cards, treasury modernization, and integrated payables and receivables
  • Recruit, develop, and retain sales talent while building a culture of accountability and performance
  • Represent PMI in enterprise forums and align the business with broader strategic priorities
  • Deliver differentiated public-sector strategy, stronger pipeline conversion, expanded product opportunities, leadership development, and alignment across PMI and ICG

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in sales, banking, payments, treasury management, merchant services, commercial card, public sector banking, or related financial services businesses
  • Proven track record leading a large, complex business or sales organization with measurable growth outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to build sector-specific strategies and scale them through high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of sales management discipline, pipeline governance, opportunity management, revenue realization, and performance accountability
  • Experience partnering across product, banking, credit, risk, operations, compliance, and marketing functions to drive enterprise priorities
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events
  • Two or more hours of driving per week required
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and workplace conduct and safety policies
  • Ability to satisfy applicable employment eligibility verification and background-check requirements
