About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Mortgage Regional Manager in leading and managing Mortgage Loan Originators
  • Achieve regional production goals, operational excellence, growth, and profitability
  • Maintain a personal pipeline of retail mortgage loans
  • Recruit, interview, and train elite talent
  • Retain current employees and manage performance
  • Participate in local and state mortgage banking, realtor, and builder trade associations
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of mortgage industry developments and current issues
  • Communicate business goals, objectives, and company performance results to staff
  • Promote an effective sales environment through sales training, individual and team coaching, and marketing materials
  • Liaise between U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other company departments
  • Establish collaborative partnerships with other U.S. Bank business lines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Two or more years of experience as a Retail Mortgage Loan Originator
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience
  • National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z
  • Completion of the NMLS registration process, including criminal background and credit checks
  • Expert knowledge of sales and sales strategies
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed customer service/relations skills
  • Demonstrated new business development and relationship management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of mortgage products/services, operations, and current market trends
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
