About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Fair and Responsible Banking (FaRB) Program within Corporate Compliance in the second line of defense
  • Provide independent oversight, credible challenge, and advisory support across fair lending and UDAP/UDAAP risk
  • Partner with Compliance Risk Managers, business partners, CRO teams, and other stakeholders
  • Translate regulatory expectations into practical, risk-based guidance supporting sound decision-making and risk mitigation
  • Contribute to FaRB Program development and enhancement through risk assessments, monitoring, issue management, governance activities, and advisory support
  • Support special initiatives and horizontal reviews across multiple products, channels, and functions
  • Drive consistency, identify emerging risks, and strengthen program effectiveness and maturity
  • Evaluate analytical and data-driven results, identify risk themes, and communicate conclusions and recommendations
  • Support regulatory engagement, audit and examination requests, issue remediation, and management and executive-level reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically more than eight years of applicable experience
  • Demonstrated experience in fair lending and UDAP/UDAAP compliance risk oversight
  • Experience with advisory, risk assessment, monitoring, issue management, corrective action, and governance activities within a second line of defense framework
  • Strong understanding of fair lending and UDAP/UDAAP risks across financial products and the consumer product lifecycle
  • Ability to provide credible, independent challenge and translate regulatory expectations into actionable guidance, control expectations, and business decisions
  • Experience partnering with and influencing stakeholders across business, legal, risk, compliance, and analytics functions
  • Ability to evaluate analytical and data-driven results and identify risk themes
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting testing, monitoring, or risk assessment results
  • Experience supporting regulatory engagement, audit and examination requests, issue remediation, and executive-level reporting
  • Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services practices, and regulatory trends
  • Strong understanding of business operations, products, services, systems, risks, and controls
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, compliance, and audit principles and practices
  • Strong project leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Applicable professional certifications such as CRCM, CAMS, or CAFP preferred
  • Must work from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week
  • Applicants must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
  • Certain positions may be subject to requirements including FINRA, NMLS registration, Reg Z, Reg G, OFAC, NFA, FCPA, Bank Secrecy Act, SAFE Act, and applicable federal guidelines
