About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop profitable business account relationships and increase profitability from existing and new accounts
  • Identify business opportunities based on knowledge of clients, markets, products, and services
  • Make sales presentations to existing and prospective clients
  • Inform clients of the benefits of using the organization's products and services to meet their needs
  • Implement and maintain an effective referral network and call program to promote sales

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Seven to nine or more years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and sometimes nationally
  • Prior experience in business card sales/payments
  • Well-developed sales and new business development skills, including sales strategies, goals, and closing skills
  • Ability to build a book of business through proactive prospecting and developing and leveraging Centers of Influence (COIs)
  • Experience working with businesses with $2.5MM+ in annual revenue
  • Strong credit analysis and financial assessment skills
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles related to financial transactions
  • Proven success developing and leveraging COIs to generate new business opportunities
  • Ability to manage pipeline activity with strong follow-up and execution discipline
  • Solid knowledge of payment products and general understanding of product marketing and organizational operations
  • Strong customer relationship management skills, including negotiation, decision-making, and creative problem resolution
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools to manage leads, activities, and sales performance
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
  • Ability to satisfy employment eligibility verification and applicable background-check requirements
