About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop profitable business account relationships and increase profitability from existing and new accounts
- Identify business opportunities based on knowledge of clients, markets, products, and services
- Make sales presentations to existing and prospective clients
- Inform clients of the benefits of using the organization's products and services to meet their needs
- Implement and maintain an effective referral network and call program to promote sales
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Seven to nine or more years of relevant work experience
- Ability to travel locally, regionally, and sometimes nationally
- Prior experience in business card sales/payments
- Well-developed sales and new business development skills, including sales strategies, goals, and closing skills
- Ability to build a book of business through proactive prospecting and developing and leveraging Centers of Influence (COIs)
- Experience working with businesses with $2.5MM+ in annual revenue
- Strong credit analysis and financial assessment skills
- Understanding of basic accounting principles related to financial transactions
- Proven success developing and leveraging COIs to generate new business opportunities
- Ability to manage pipeline activity with strong follow-up and execution discipline
- Solid knowledge of payment products and general understanding of product marketing and organizational operations
- Strong customer relationship management skills, including negotiation, decision-making, and creative problem resolution
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools to manage leads, activities, and sales performance
- Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
- Ability to satisfy employment eligibility verification and applicable background-check requirements
