About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for UI, API, and end-to-end testing
  • Develop and execute automated test solutions using TypeScript, JavaScript, and Playwright
  • Implement API and backend automation strategies, including service validation and integration testing
  • Drive adoption of BDD practices using Cucumber/Gherkin
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing initiatives
  • Lead automation efforts from requirements gathering through implementation, troubleshooting, and production readiness
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, best practices, engineering standards, and automation strategy guidance
  • Evaluate and implement AI-powered testing solutions using GitHub Copilot, AI Agents, and MCP-based automation approaches

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Five to six years of relevant work experience with programming concepts, development logic, or automating simple to medium complexity processes
  • Expert-level experience with Playwright, TypeScript, and JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience with API automation, service validation, Postman, or Bruno
  • Experience with Cucumber/Gherkin, BDD, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, continuous testing, and Git-based source control
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native testing strategies
  • Experience leveraging GitHub Copilot, AI Agents, MCP, intelligent test generation, and self-healing automation
  • Knowledge of performance, load, scalability, security, and penetration testing practices
  • Ability to lead automation initiatives, mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish engineering standards
  • Experience with quality dashboards, test coverage reporting, automation metrics, and regulated environments including PCI, PII, and HIPAA
  • Ability to work from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies, procedures, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and workplace conduct and safety policies
