About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze, develop, and optimize enterprise authentication fraud strategies
  • Analyze authentication performance, fraud outcomes, customer journeys, and control effectiveness
  • Conduct root-cause analyses of authentication failures, account takeover events, fraud losses, customer friction, and emerging fraud threats
  • Develop and maintain analytical frameworks, performance metrics, and monitoring capabilities
  • Partner with Fraud Strategy, Digital, Operations, Technology, Risk, and Product teams on authentication initiatives
  • Collaborate with model development, ownership, governance, and validation teams
  • Evaluate third-party vendors, authentication solutions, fraud tools, and identity verification capabilities
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve fraud detection, authentication accuracy, customer friction, and operational performance
  • Translate analytical findings into executive-ready recommendations
  • Monitor emerging fraud trends, authentication risks, industry developments, and customer behaviors
  • Ensure compliance with governance, privacy, model risk management, regulatory requirements, and data quality standards
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically more than eight years of applicable experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of departmental data sources and fraud risk and operations management
  • Strong analytical skills evaluating fraud prevention infrastructure and forecasting fraud loss trends
  • Strong project management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer navigation using Microsoft Office applications and data analysis software
  • Must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and workplace conduct and safety policies
  • Position is not eligible for current or future visa sponsorship
